Some workplace haiku to start your week #haikuatwork

Lately, the news has been so grim, with elections, and overtime rules, and data breaches, and federal agencies that over-step and over-reach. I figured, why not start the holiday week with some levity.

What happens when an HR investigation is staged … and filmed for a beer commercial?

This.

“Do you always wash your hands after using the restroom? … Have you ever told a coworker you like her outfit? … Do you use your work computer for non-work-related activities? … Have you been using your computer to watch basketball this March?”

I don’t recommend taking an HR investigation as a practical joke in your workplace, but this ad is pretty darn entertaining.

Can you still be funny at work in a politically correct work?

Today’s HR Daily Advisor, published by BLR, asks the following question: Can You Still Tell a Joke in the Office? Instead of answering that question, I turn today’s post over to David Brent:

Let’s start the week with a laugh

So much of the news is doom and gloom, I thought I’d start everyone’s week with a little humor from one of my all-time favorite movies, Office Space. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth queuing on Netflix. Besides being hilarious, it offers an excellent glimpse in how not to manage employees.

Back to more substantive stuff tomorrow, I promise.
